I see coffee as an art. From stuyding different recipes to testing different methods of brewing, I am always in search of the ultimate cup. Coffee is unpredictable. It fascinates me how just a few grams of beans to a few degrees Farenheit can completely redefine a cup's flavor. Brewing is dynamic. Speed and timing are crucial elements that always brings pressure to the brewing process. My dream is to one day partner with a few overseas coffee farm villages and begin a single-origin speciality coffee shop in a church. Through the church, I could use the partnerships as opportunities for Missions work.
My first time seeing a Chinese yo-yo was in junior high school. A man came in during one of our P.E. classes and was selling them. At first, I thought it looked kind of silly. But the peer-pressured junior-high school me obviously had to buy one. I had no idea how important it would become to me. I remember spending countless hours studying YouTube videos teaching myself how to do tricks. I eventually, began to buy better gear and was able to perform for many talent shows. It is also important as a connection to my culture. As a fourth to fifth generation Chinese-American, much of my culture is diluted in my immediate family. So, although I can't speak a word of Mandarin or Cantonese, I know I can put on a fun show with my Chinese yo-yo. Click here to watch some of my tricks!
Music is truly an escape. Through the guitar I can freely express myself and sing my heart out. I love playing with others, too because it can really bond people together.
I am a HUGE fan of anime. I really believe that there are extremely good storytellers in this industry. Much of my inspiration comes from the shows that I watch. You can view MyAnimeList account here here. And even though I'm Chinese, I'm a big fan of Japanese culture!
